Day 58/366

The Indian Cop
An occasional raid and they're satisfied,
These 'keepers of the law'
The hafta makes them extortionists,
A black economy so raw.

Untouched by guilt or remorse,
The bribes are taken readily,
'To feed a family' is no excuse,
We all fight to live, don't we?

And then again, you look around,
And see your country's state,
You might be glad they work how they do,
Or you'd probably be sitting in jail.

Day 51/366

The Victim
She has a say but it goes unused
Often enough in our world,
Society and its crazy norms,
It makes my head swirl.

Victim-blaming, the daily rapes,
Since when did its seriousness fade?
It is a pity that instead of action,
Complaints are just followed up by a raid.

Where is the justice?
Who makes the laws?
Are they just namesake papers made?
There's no black or white,
There's a murky grey,
Would you shut up if you got paid?
