Day 135/366

To watch the two consummate,
A dreadful sight to see -
The pandas stood there mating,
Like humongous chess board queens.

As I wrote on the typewriter,
Of the repulse in my head,
There was no scope for beauty,
I wished that I were dead.

The image did leave a horrid scar,
As did the mosquito’s (love) bite,
I can no longer dream of wilderness,
Or virgin beaches in the night.

That sliver of land I belonged to,
Taken away from the dead,
I’ll write of them and remember,
Return a favor for the life I lead.
