Oh good lord! What have I got myself into? TV shows are the worst thing to happen to you. You can't run a 5 km marathon anymore but a 5 hour Big Bang Theory or How I Met Your Mother marathon to get yourself up to date is so easy to do. Ridiculous! I miss the days when we had to wait for every episode to be shown on Zee Cafe or Star World. There were different slots and family time and genuine laughter. This kind of addiction is driving me insane. And yet, I'm glued to my laptop screen. Even writing this blog post is taking away from episode time. And I need to finish at least half the season of that funny show everyone in college had and was so easy to access. I'm so sleep deprived right now. But the night's still young. God bless. *sigh*

Day 242/366
It's very interesting how people from a virtual world now have a face in our head even if we haven't met them in person. I mean, I think a LOT of my 'friends' (new found or otherwise) would agree that it's a strange phenomenon but it's much easier to befriend someone they talk to on say, Twitter compared to the same with a stranger you meet on the train.
It's not good or bad, though the leaning is towards the latter (I could be a hypocrite. Not sure). It's more about the intriguing aspect of this happening to millions of us and us just getting further and further addicted to it. But in the process, society as a whole is coming so much closer than before. When you meet someone after a gig and they say, I'm trying to DM the person I'm catching a ride with, you step in there and help them. Somewhere, they are more willing to allow change to sweep in when it decides it's time. You initially fight the urge to give in but one way or another, you do.
If you're reading this, I may generalize and say that you're a blogger (anonymous or otherwise)/ you like reading blogs. You could have a Tumblr account that feels like your home and you don't want known people to ever find it. But you don't mind strangers relating to it and reblogging it on their own sites. You could be a Twitter 'celeb' based on the number of followers you had. There is some kind of recognition within a larger community, even though it is smaller when you put it on a world scale.
I'm just saying what popped into my head. Like I said, there's no right or wrong. Go figure it out for myself. :|

Day 238/366
At the end of the long day, you need that drink. Your sinuses are clogged. That drag will open them up. There will be a momentary pleasure and you will be granted pleasure over pain. That cup of coffee will wake you up when you want to sleep. Man's touch will drive you crazy and make you crave as much as you can get. You will be an addict in the eyes of society. In your own, you will be free.

Day 188/366
You grew up with all the right values instilled in you - don't talk to strangers, don't take things from strangers, know the right touch from wrong, don't allow yourself to be vulnerable, don't...
You thought you had the dos and donts figured out in your head. But you were wrong. Somewhere between adolescence and adulthood, you realized that you were glad you were wrong. You tried your first cigarette, had your first drunk night, slept with that guy you didn't even want to know the name of. The little rebel in you was prouder than she could ever be and you felt 'free' in the unconventional sense of the word.
You succumbed to all kinds of addictions, popped pills any time of the day, got AIDS from that guy you met at the bar who refused to use protection. You were suddenly isolated from society. You felt helpless and contaminated and angry. You remembered your parents and wished you'd listened when they had tried to protect you. You wondered how you grew up so fast and why you let those lessons fade in your mind. It was too late. You died too young.

Day 120/366
The blackness attracted her. Being fair skinned, there was a strong appeal to highlight her eyes and bring out that glint in them.
It was pure impulse. If she saw one lying around, she knew she had to try it on just to make those little mental notes in her head. Too dark, too sharp, too smudgy, she'd tell herself. It was even brought to her nose to check if there was camphor in it, as she had found was present in the kind made in Kerala. There was no guilt felt if she took one home with her. To her, this was a right granted to her, whether the original buyer was her or another woman. She did not need to justify her actions to anyone for no one knew of her little quirk.
In the warm light of the lantern, she stood in front of the mirror. She opened the drawer and took out the latest find. Carefully, she took some on her finger and applied it, lining the eyes perfectly with the darkness. The kohl thief had done it again.

Day 55/366
Tip toe up the staircase,
Just to see her move,
Headphones on, hips swinging,
She dances in her room.
Oblivious of the world or tide,
The child in her awakes,
Without a care or worry,
Her mind's in a happy place.
Her future reeks of clarity,
There's passion on her face,
As long as she's got music,
She guides her world's pace.
Watch her even closer,
When the music's gone away.
She'll twist and turn in her sleep,
In her blood, the drug remains.
