Slowly it falls
Seeking no one's permission
True to the spirit of life
Without taking a break.

Come over when it stops.
Something nice have i prepared
Warmth in its touch
Beauty in its pace.

The long journey has been worth it.
A new place feels known and old.
I saw the lights go dim
And died in this embrace.

Goodbye I must say soon.
New islands I must stay.
Devoid of your former grace
Forever I must grow.

The smell that captures the earth at it rawest,
The sight of water trapped in the winds,
The captivating beauty of it all unfolding
As the first rains of monsoon pour down.

The humid discomfort to follow
Are gladly forgotten momentarily.
The gleam of the sun on the leaves
Put my mind at ease, at peace.

Before I can go soak it in,
She stops falling on me.
I stand content at the idea
That monsoon's almost ready to begin.
