#NaPoWriMo Day 8

Prompt: A poem with repetition

I light a cigarette
And dance with the wind
Moving to Callahan
Ever so gently
As the smoke fades.

I light a cigarette
Absent-mindedly.
What I really wanted was your lips
On mine
Instead, I'm stuck with this.

I light a cigarette
Pour a cup of black coffee
And patiently wait -
For the bitterness
To float away.

I light a cigarette
A menthol
It smells stale,
Too funky,
I stub it out, immediately.

I light a cigarette
Instead of greens
Which are so much nicer,
And stimulating,
Alas!

I light a cigarette
Declaring it my last
I want a future,
And a healthy heart
Goodbye, my love.
