Day 366/366

The last one.

The candle flickering away,
Oh! But it just died.
Somebody's chips are like their fingers,
The stars are like daisies in a line.
Pretty little lights awaken me,
Shining into my soul,
There in my eyes they glitter,
Bright, disco vibes.
Rummaging through my mind,
I find a piece of yesterday.
And of tomorrow as I know it,
Of today, how it stands in front of me.

Over. And out.

Day 347/366

Tangled up in electric poles
She played till her brains did explode,
The stench of human flesh in the air,
As the speed of rotting grew.
The decomposers started their part in the process,
Doing what they do best,
The onlookers thought, some tried it once,
In peace may their fucked up souls rest!

Day 325/366

Shiny dancing disco ball
Swirling in the sea of waves,
Lightning strikes the stone cold wall,
Did you dream of today someday?

Be a feathery bubble gum,
Wrapped in sepia display,
Does this blue blisterin' barnacle-
Meet the love of his life far away?

Gorillas win us over,
While Nature's screams shrill low,
Naked, as you stand afar
The beauty does not flow.

Day 319/366

Isolate the atoms,
Rekindle the life,
Push and pull together
Blow the damn dynamite.
Step by step, follow,
The new world order -
It's here to stay.
Unleash the intellectual,
Put up a decent fight.
Man versus himself,
Technology to watch,
They're winning our losing battle
They're singing songs of pride.
Shallower than the deepest black,
Chuckling to himself,
The future is already here -
He's the death of yesterday.
Can you hear the metal clinking?
Reproducing in their own way,
The blonde redhead calls out
Goodbye, Sensibility.

Day 200/366

Shut it all down,
Fade the tune away
The deviant rainy summer
Undo this honey haze.
Dipping into winter's warmth,
Electrified by your grace
Untouched until the very end
The dew drops on your waist.
Lie beside me in the grass
Hold me gently before I go
Why do your shadows surround me?
All covered up in snow.
Little mosquito flying around,
Go die a painful death
In my sleep one day I shall pass
Oblivious to the grave.
Dance around the sea henge
Walk along the edge
Cornered spaces tempt me
Let's step into this mess.

142/366

Uncle Peter lost his car today,
The thief was not too kind.
He left him in the ditch to lay,
By the rusted bicycle wheel.

Uncle Peter got mugged today,
His phone and wallet was taken
He went home angry & empty handed
His wife was not pleased with him.

Uncle Peter cut himself today,
He was hating being alive.
Too much pain he had already felt
A little more couldn't hurt.

Uncle Peter had an accident today,
There was nothing left of him.

Day 108/366

When a topic didn't come to mind,
To write today's post,
I asked the people in the room,
And each one spewed out words.

Like Jesus reading Sherlock Holmes
And asking "Who nailed me?"
Or food or beer or chicken curry
Such entertaining company.

Walking around the room,
The fat, long dog did burp.
In my head all that I want
Is to hear little birdies chirp.

The right ingredients of humor,
In new friends that I have made.
This won't be ending soon,
Unless we face a raid.

Day 76/366

My eyes may scare you,
But I've a story to tell.
You'll never know it,
While you're under its spell.

The witch I live with,
She treats me okay,
Not overly pampering,
But gives me my space.

Do not pet me,
Or I'll be forced to bite,
Feed me those grapes,
I'm drunk Cleopatra tonight!

Day 73/366

There's a camel on the highway,
Or was that a potter's den,
The unpredictability of an adventure,
Is never twice the same.

By bike or car or bus you go,
To a land far, far away.
The lure of spontaneity,
It's shine never fades.

Suitcases full of beer,
Or a knapsack full of 'stuff',
Whatever the case may be,
Take cards to play bluff!

Day 69/366

The randomness of chaos,
Too beautiful to share,
Where and when and how we are,
Is in the universe's care.

If a butterfly flapped it's wing right now,
Repercussions would fall everywhere.
That is just the butterfly effect,
In motion in the air.

Stop to observe the occurrence,
The madness of it all.
Enjoy the finer details,
Of the sun, the fireball.

Day 66/366

The Artist
The many layered man,
He fascinates me.
He tells tales of damselflies,
While on the pretty green.

A musician by day,
Tattoo enthusiast by night,
An artist with many tools,
He replenishes his appetite.

A serene madman this hippie is,
Who looks somewhat like Jesus Christ.
Belonging to The Mavyns (pronounced May-vins)
This fellow's a real delight!

(The relation of the photograph to the person this poem is about might not seem clear to some. I shall explain. I knew him to be a musician, an artiste. After many trippy and intriguing conversations with him, I have seen that crazy passion in him that I assumed only artists and scientists would possess. He, a musician, is an artist with many tools. I might even get myself a tattoo done by him on my birthday if I am daring enough.)

Day 47/366

There's something undefined,
About the eskimo clan,
Living in those little igloos,
Would they ever need a fan?

A seal suffices for food,
Could it feed a family of three?
Mother, father, child,
Are their pet bears friendly?

I met an eskimo only once,
Or perhaps that was a dream,
He said Aries was his sunsign,
Or maybe that was just me.

Day 46/366

High
He lights it up,
Takes one long pull,
Keeps it inside,
Then follows the three drag rule.

Plays some ambient music,
Little or no lyrics are heard,
He lets his thoughts slow,
Till he sees the shadow of a bird.

The little birdy perched on his chair,
Without a beak, it stares and glares,
He knows he is high,
And still trusts what he sees,
At the end of the night,
He buries the dead, green parakeet.

Day 31/366

The Poet
The poet, unknown to thy self,
Awoke in his home today.
After many a night with eyes shut,
Where he did roam the dark woods.

The attire reeking of rosemary,
They covered his back, day and night,
The cuts were deep and gory,
The blood in his veins ran still.

The silence of her memory
Haunted this poet, once quite great,
Out to explore the unseen lands,
He walked with no money, no grains.

When the charcoal would finally dry,
No longer worthy of use.
His words would then stop flowing,
The world, no longer his muse.

While the sunset would see your grave,
Alit as the loud winds moaned,
My dear, I'd keep you alive.
My breath for your pain endeared.

Day 30/366

Fantasies in a Library
The idea of being stuck in a library
No longer appeals to me.
For I have been here a tad bit too long,
Awaiting my moment of epiphany.

I once had many a fantasies,
Of being locked up in one one these,
With a gorgeous Greek man (or twenty three),
All ready to simply please.

But the reality of this passing time,
'Tis too slow and dull to bear,
The only thing that may cheer me up-
Is to smoke a cigar with a bear.

Day 28/366

When Harry met Sally,
Did he get down on one knee?
Or did he throw a big tantrum,
And create a scene?

When the world was created,
Was the egg introduced first?
Or was it in fact the chicken
That emerged with the burst?

When one universe closes,
Does another one open?
Are we all surreal entities,
Floating around with no purpose?

Are you as curious as I am
To discover the answers?
Or do you prefer feigning ignorance
And just believe in words of others?

Day 27/366

My adventure to seek out the dragons,
Ended before it began.
My Mum told me that I'd be killed
If I ever entered their land.

The land far, far away,
Towards the core of the earth,
Where fire breeds in pockets,
The warmth, their elixir.

All I wanted was a pet with wings,
A bird would not suffice.
I wanted a creature that could breathe fire,
And start a bonfire every night.

But a child's dream is hardly ever realized,
There's no dragon or dinosaur for you.
If only I could meet my fairy godmother,
She'd work me up a dragon or two.

Day 21/366

The Death of the Jumping Jack
Someone left the tap open-
And the room he was in did flood,
Though the paramedics checked later,
There was just no sign of blood.

The jumping jack stayed in,
The box was his only home,
But he never would know,
How the world outside his flowed.

Into a tumultuous river he went,
Afloat till he finally drowned.
There was nothing left of him,
No clothes, no smile, no sound.
